Update - Vertical Slice Complete
I feel the game has reached some soft milestone so I'm making some changes to the store presentation to express this. Although there's a lot of graphical assets left to make and implement and a lot of game mechanics to flesh out my vision for the game, the programming side of things have reached a nice stage of development and I would to consider the game to have progressed past a prototype state.
One of these changes is that I'm separating the desktop from the web version, to allow this page to focus more on the main desktop version. I will be making a separate page for the web version, that will be maintained as a quick demo version until the game is closer to completion.
Amidst all the things I had to implement on this version, including some new skills, the battle portion of the game got considerably unbalanced, specially at higher levels, so keep that in mind. I'll focus a lot on the game design for the next update and will hopefully improve this.
Features:
- Damage Over Time: skills can now apply damage over time.
- More Settings Options: the settings panel now offers more options to customize how the game works and its displayed, such as animating the UI or not, or at what level of detail to provide information when you hover over a skill. This is very limited at the moment and will be expanded further.
- More Slime Tooltip Information: the slime tooltip also displays the tags the slime has gathered trough its skills and what is their highest rarity level, which is important for developing skills through mutation. To control this information better you can open and close the auxiliary information tabs.
- More Volume Sliders.
- Splash Screens! including a new logo for the game.
- New fonts, sprites and sound effects!
Changes:
- Slime movement is a bit more stable and controlled during fights.
- Slimes created through the splitter will be named 1 and 2 following the original's name.
Known Bugs:
- The "dead slimes" UI will sometimes open empty without any of your slimes having died.
- The total damage dealt by each slime is not being displayed correctly at end of a fight.
- At certain moments the vertical health ranking is completely empty despite the slimes in battle.
- When the battle times out, there's a chance that the damage ranking will be buggy.
- The game is not correctly saving what tutorials you have read or not, making you read the same one again everytime, sometimes??
- The yellow sprite might have a visual bug during the dash animation.
- The slime sprites overlapping correctly during battle hasn't actually being fixed.
- At least once a slime had a skill get stuck as "full cooldown" allowing it to use the skill over and over again in a row.
