Update 0.3.1
This update focuses on improving the game's onboarding and intelligibility. It adds a secondary type of tutorial in the form of tips that show up on the screen without blocking gameplay and only go away when you execute the suggested action, to make sure the player got it. It also introduces a little temporary tooltip that pops up on the side of the screen when relevant things happen to your slime population, such as new skills being acquired through mutation or your objective goals advancing a level, to give a higher level view of relevant things happening with your slimes without having to constantly check each one. I'm still tuning this tooltips to see what events are usefull to highlight this way.
Features:
- Tutorial Tips! Tooltips that show up on the screen without blocking gameplay that explaining some inputs the player can do and only exaust when you execute the given command.
- Event Highlights! Tooltips that show up to highlight important high level things happening with your slimes, such as new skills being acquired through mutation or a new skill level being achieved on some slime.
Changes:
- avoidance steering has been a little improved to make sure the slimes don't fully avoid approaching their targets just because there are other slimes nearby.
- tutorial flow has been reworked on a number of points to hopefully improve tutorialization and information onboarding.
- the color of the numbers on the unlock UI has been changed to improve readability and relate more to the value it is charging and changing.
- the way the game handles collisions between slimes has been improved and hopefully no longer slingshots slimes far away.
Fixes:
- the bonus given to the slime's cooldown reduction and movement speed has diminishing returns as the attributes increases now to prevent some bugs that were occuring due to the values being to high.
- the game no longer gets stuck in an infinite loop when you let the game pick your slime loadout for you.
Known Bugs:
- The "dead slimes" UI will sometimes open empty without any of your slimes having died.
- At certain moments the vertical health ranking is completely empty despite the slimes in battle.
- The health bar sometimes lerps from zero instead of the current value when the slimes gets healed.
- The general bag UI sometimes loses its lower margin.
