Update 0.0.0.6
This update focuses less on the game's content and more on moving towards a complete vertical slice by adding language options and UI sfx (with volume control), accessed on the new settings menu. The sfx is just a little dip to start implementing sound and figuring that stuff out on godot, so there's not a lot of variety yet and the game is still mostly silent, including all of the battle stuff. I'm also considering adding music at some point now, that wasn't part of the plan originally, but the lack of music is weirder now with UI sfx.
A pretty horrible bug that was making your slimes have a really hard time inheriting skills was fixed, I'm not sure when it was implemented, but it should make the progression of a run make much more sense now. This does make the progression of the enemy slimes too slow and weak now, but this will have to be tweaked only in the next update, which should include a lot of game design stuff.
Features:
- Settings Menu: accessed through the upper right toolbar button. Allows you to change the language settings between english and brazilian portuguese, change the master volume and disable the tutorial pannels.
- UI SFX: the basic UI now has sound effects!
- Brazilian Portuguese Translation: I wanted to hook up all of the text to a translation system as soon as possible, so I added a brazilian portuguese (my native language) language option.
- Skill Book: allows you to both check the effect of all of the skills at any level and also records the highest level you managed to achieved in each one, which hopefully improves the collectionist apppeal of the game. Looks very ugly right now.
Changes:
- The final round of fighting, the one with only three slimes, will have them start closer together so it gets going faster.
- The enemy slimes will now have a bit of variation on their level and amount of skills.
- The slimes will no longer names that are stupid long.
- Machine slots are more expensive and less trivial to unlock.
Fixes:
- The game will no longer offer you identical objective options.
- Skills have a much higher (normal, no longer buggy) chance to be inherited by slimes on the Slusher.
- Skills would sometimes not update accordingly when they leveled up, this has been fixed.
Known Bugs:
- The "dead slimes" UI will sometimes open empty without any of your slimes having died.
- The fights can get stuck with no living slimes, as reported by a player, I'm still trying to reproduce this bug.
- The slime tooltip will sometimes shrink and expand in weird ways.
